FERRY / ROAD

A short and inexpensive ferry crossing to our cottage is via Speedferries (Dover- Boulogne) but there are plenty of alternatives – see also P and O ferries and Brittany ferries.

If you prefer a longer ferry crossing and a shorter car journey, take a ferry crossing to Caen or St Malo.

RAIL

The cottage can be reached by Eurostar and Rail Europe- SNCF tgv. Aim for Angouleme with routes via Paris or Lille.

London to Angouleme via Lille is easier as it is a short platform hop onto a new train at Lille, whilst London to Angouleme via Paris requires a change of station.

Angouleme is on the SNCF tgv main line from Paris to Spain and there is a daily tgv link to Paris. The journey is rapid and comfortable and takes around 2 hours.
